Rotwild and Mercedes-AMG present the R.S2 Limited Edition "Beast of the Green Hell"
Rotwild (Germany) – The Rotwild R.S2 limited edition is an efficient top performer for enthusiasts seeking a unique experience. The road bike is already the third bike model jointly presented by Mercedes-AMG and ROTWILD. The special edition, which is limited to 50 units, refers back to 50 years of Mercedes-AMG and combines high performance material with exclusive features and a clear design language.

This new model opens a new chapter in the cooperation between the performance brand of Mercedes-Benz and the internationally renowned manufacturer of high end mountain bikes. The first Rotwild road bike inspired by AMG is called the “Beast of the Green Hell” and is much more than an homage to the spectacular Mercedes-AMG GT R.

This road-going sports car was built to bring motor sport to the streets. The Rotwild R.S2 limited edition takes this uncompromising philosophy and translates it into the world of road bikes. With its high end frame construction and the use of premium components the Rotwild R.S2 limited edition impresses in all areas with the most modern technology. High tech processes used such as carbon Module Monocoque Technology (MMT) strive to meet the highest processing quality and form the basis of manufacturing the frame to have an extremely uniform, crease-free carbon structure. Using high modulus and high tenacity carbon fibre significantly optimises the performance quality. Each individual carbon layer is oriented to its intended purpose on the basis of extremely precise calculations. The high stiffness of the chain stays ensures stability in all riding situations whereas the specially formed seat stays increase damping comfort for long stints of touring.

The road bike is equipped with premium Crankbrothers cobalt 11 carbon wheels which have low rotational inertia thanks to their unique twinpair spoke design. Positioning the mass near the centre of the hub allows for rapid acceleration, improved deceleration whilst at the same time maintaining maximum side stiffness.

The Pro Stealth Evo stem/handlebar combination with integrated cable routing manufactured from high performance UD Monocoque carbon fibre provides for a tidy cockpit. The anatomical stirrup shape optimally supports an aerodynamic and ergonomic seating position. Considerably more comfort is provided by the Ergon CF3 Pro seat post on long rides. VCLS carbon fibre has a defined flex where there is optimal collaboration between the impact direction of the application of force and the damper.

In order to convert pedal power to propulsion as efficiently as possible the R.S2 limited edition is outfitted with top Shimano drivetrain groupset Dura Ace. Hydraulic disc brakes have become state of the art in the road bike sector. With Dura Ace brakes and their adjustable grip width settings the R.S2 limited edition offers outstanding performance with consistent braking power, even in bad weather conditions. These discs uses the new ice technology “Freeza” which ensures effective heat dispersion through the rotors therefore providing increased braking power whilst giving the coating a longer lifespan.

For Rotwild CEO Peter Schlitt the new “Beast of the Green Hell” is the embodiment of a modern road bike: “With the R.S2 limited edition we are continuing the common approach of Mercedes-AMG and ROTWILD. The sporty riding performance and tangible dynamics ensure a real riding experience. The bike reacts precisely to each steering adjustment and impresses with outstanding propulsion. The rider can rely on a high degree of directional stability during high speed descents”.
