LEOMO Launches Cycling Performance Clinic in Japan

Leomo (Japan) - New program provides advice to age-group cyclists for achieving goals and overcoming concerns by applying analysis services that WorldTour Teams utilize.

LEOMO Inc., a company that helps cyclists and triathletes of all levels break through power plateaus with products and direct-to-customer services that enable faster, stronger, more efficient, injury-free riding, has launched its Cycling Performance Clinic service in Japan. LEOMO plans to launch this service in the U.S. and Europe late spring 2021.

With LEOMO’s motion analysis technology and a unique test protocol, age-group cyclists can utilize this new service to quickly, efficiently and robustly respond to various challenges and goals faced by cyclists, such as overcoming stagnancy in power-based training and overcoming weaknesses that cause injuries. The Cycling Performance Clinic service was developed with veteran WorldTour Team cyclist Adam Hansen, who has gained considerable knowledge, technique and experience cultivated through analysis of thousands of riders in collaboration with elite coaches and sports scientists.

Known by the nickname of "Tetsujin" or “Ironman” in Japan, Hansen has a background of studying computer science and is also known as one of the leading theoretical athletes. Hansen says the protocol used by this service took a long time to develop, but it is simple and quick for riders to execute and accurately record how they are handling the load with specific power and cadence levels.

"You can strengthen your weaknesses and maximize your performance through this service," says Hansen, a former Australian pro cyclist who set a record of completing the 20 consecutive Grand Tour events. “With LEOMO technology, we can get an accurate picture of how the rider is doing each interval. If the power is stable but the LEOMO data deteriorates, the interval will be harder than expected and you can adjust the training load. With this LEOMO service, you can pinpoint where these weaknesses are and get feedback to improve your riding and maximize your performance.”

The Cycling Performance Clinic service provides input and advice from courses that are useful not only for the world's top teams such as the Movistar Team (Spain) and its elite athletes, but also for general cyclists. It is available to existing TYPE-S and TYPE-R device owners and for new customers via an easy-to-administer rental program. After customers go through the test protocol and upload their results, the LEOMO sports science team will analyze the data and provide feedback according to the course.
