Delta Cycle (USA) – The X Mount Pro mounts on bikes' stem caps for efficient space use; low-profile mount maximizes cyclists' existing smartphone functionality as a bike computer.
Delta Cycle has released a new product for the 2018 cycling season to appeal to the serious cycling athletes who require a minimalist bike profile, but still want to take advantage of gear to track and improve their cycling performance. The X Mount Pro is a lightweight, durable, low-profile smartphone mount for the bike's stem cap and company officials expect it to be a popular item this year.
"The smartphone that everyone keeps in their pockets is really the most powerful bike computer you can own," Delta Cycle president Jeff Greenstein said. "People just aren't taking advantage of these smartphone tools, but the X Mount Pro takes care of that."
"Indeed, smartphones are capable of doubling as a cycling computer, but without the additional $300 cycling computer cost. The newest phones rival cycling computers' battery life, provide GPS, maps and elevation data and monitor cyclists' heart rate and other vital signs as they cycle. Unfortunately, many cyclists have left their phones in their pockets because previous phone mounts have been heavy and bulky", added the company.
"The thin, light X Mount Pro is a micro-mount for phones that solves many issues cyclists have had with other smartphone handlebar mounts. The X Mount Pro's rugged materials and low-profile look make the it practical, yet attractive. Its patent-pending design mounts on the bike's stem with durable, lightweight forged aluminum. The platform is a composite material and its phone straps are made from a proprietary, weather-resistant silicone. The patent-pending design is black and created to blend in with a bike's aesthetic", continues the company.
"The mount is designed so riders can see their screens easily, but it also doesn't stick out and ruin the bike's appearance," Greenstein said. "The X Mount Pro goes on the bike's stem cap, so it doesn't take up any real estate on the bike's handlebars or interfere with other things cyclists may have mounted there."
Greenstein said he expects the X Mount Pro to sell well this season because the smartphone mount's flexible design will fit any make or model bike and any smartphone. The phone mount retails for $24.99 and will be available at online and local retailers nationwide.
