Cima Wins Stage 18 of the Giro d'Italia, Carapaz Retains the Maglia Rosa

Giro d’Italia (Italy) - Press Release: The Italian rider Damiano Cima (Nippo – Vini Fantini – Faizané) won Stage 18 of the 102nd Giro d’Italia, 222km from Valdaora / Olang to Santa Maria di Sala. Pascal Ackermann (Bora – Hangrohe) and Simone Consonni (UAE Team Emirates) finished second and third, respectively.

Richard Carapaz remains the race General Classification leader, wearing the Maglia Rosa.

Final Result:

  1. Damiano Cima (Nippo – Vini Fantini – Faizané) – 222km in 4h56’04”, average speed 44.989km/h
  2. Pascal Ackermann (Bora – Hangrohe) s.t.
  3. Simone Consonni (UAE Team Emirates) s.t.
