Hammerhead (United States) - Press Release: We’re excited to announce the next generation of Karoo: Karoo 2.

Despite the rapid progress in cycling technology, bike computers have consistently remained a generation behind other consumer electronics. Our mission at Hammerhead is to use cutting edge technology to guide you through the best ride possible. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far with the Karoo. Karoo 1 has led cyclists through epic rides in over 50 countries. Now we’re taking it up a notch, with a lot of new software packed into hardware that’s fit for the sport’s greatest champions.

The Karoo 2 is a whole new head-unit, designed to guide you to reach your cycling goals, whether they’re simply to ride more often or perform better at the very highest level of the sport. We know cycling can be a lot of things to a lot of people, and we’ve gathered feedback from Karoo users all over the world to ensure that the Karoo 2 enhances rides across all cycling disciplines. We’ll keep doing what we do well. We still believe in continual software updates in response to customer feedback. You'll still have cycling’s best navigation system on your handlebars. And, we’re adding a whole lot more, from new integrations to high-performance features.

We've always been grateful to Karoo users like you. You've supported our goal to revolutionize the way the world thinks about bike computers. You've shared consistently impactful feedback and feature requests. Your endless enthusiasm has pushed us forward. And, you’ve spread the word about this small company taking on the giants of the head unit game.

We’re not leaving you behind. Although we no longer sell the Karoo, we’ll continue to support it through regular software updates. We’ll always listen to your feedback, because you propel Karoo forward. And, of course, if you are an existing Karoo user, we’ll make it easy for you to move up to Karoo 2.

Keeping you in the loop:

We’re excited about the Karoo 2, and it’s been hard to keep this announcement to ourselves. It felt tone deaf to share what felt like such a positive story at a time that is so globally challenging. But we also know that both our community and those who want to join it are eager to know more about what we are up to.   

We still have a lot more to share. Over the next weeks, we’ll be revealing some of what makes the Karoo 2 such a generational leap forward. And we’re not just talking hardware, but software features too. We think you’re going to love it just as much as we do.
