Introducing XTR M9100

Shimano (Japan) – Press Release: New XTR pushes all MTB Boundaries.

Built on 27 years of MTB innovations, the new XTR targets the highest demanding XC, Enduro and Marathon riders.

Looking to push boundaries, even on those insanely demanding courses nowadays? The new XTR is jam-packed with every advantage you’ll need to get the job done. Heck, it’ll even inspire you to turn yourself inside out while doing it.

We’ve been working very hard the last 27 years, since we came out with the first ever MTB groupset. Our new XTR is solid proof of this. Redesigned from the bottom up, it is by far the most advanced MTB groupset on the market. It’s lighter, smoother, more durable and versatile. It’s also extremely efficient in transferring all pedal-pounding watts into ground speed.

Speed of a New Generation.

Crankset:

Our 1x12 holllow forged crankset works with a wide range of chainrings from 30-38T to fit every riding style and terrain. Chainrings are direct mount for weight reduction and improved power transfer. It also makes it easy to switch out your rings when needed.

If 2x12 is your thing, it’s set up with 38-28T and pairs nicely with the 10-45T cassette for maximum gear range and close gear steps for long races with lots of climbing.

Cassette:

The new XTR features ground-breaking 12-speed cassettes sized up to 10-51. Its minimized gear steps help keep optimal rhythm and cadence. We’ve used a mixture of titanium, aluminium and steel to obtain the best balance of weight and durability.

Rear Derailleur:

Our redesigned XTR rear derailleur not only functions brilliantly but looks great thanks to its sleek, aggressive design made of angular anodized aluminium. For reduced friction and increased chain retention as well as shifting performance, we’ve increased the number of pulley teeth from 11 to 13.

Stay in Control:

The new brake levers are stiffer with more direct contact feeling for pinpoint control. The 2-piston option comes with a lighter weight adjustable-reach XC brake lever. The 4-piston option has a tool-free reach and free stroke adjust function and Shimano’s Servo Wave technology for rapid pad-to-rotor action.

We’ve incorporated a revamped ICE-TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA rotor construction to further improve consistent braking in extreme conditions.
