BORA-hansgrohe continues the journey with Scicon bags in 2018
Scicon (Italy) – SCICON will supply the team with a range of technical bag solutions.

Following a successful partnership in 2017, Scicon Bags is again pleased to announce that it will be an Official Team Supplier of the WorldTour BORA-hansgrohe team in the 2018 season. SCICON will supply the team with a range of technical bag solutions, including team edition Scicon AeroComfort ROAD 3.0 TSA bike travel bags, and custom Scicon Race Rain Bags.

BORA-hansgrohe entered the WorldTour ranks in 2017, securing the services of then two-time World Champion Peter Sagan in the process. Already a Scicon Bagsambassador, Sagan went on to win a third consecutive World Championships title, alongside bringing the team victories throughout the season.

Achieving a total of 33 race wins by the end of the season, BORA-hansgrohe made their presence know season-long, in the spring classics, where Sagan took victory at Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, in the Grand Tours, with wins in all three for the team including a stint in the leader’s jersey at the Giro d’Italia, and all around the world.

With the WorldTour calendar ever more varied and stretched across the globe, trustworthy and reliable travel solutions, including bike bags, are of increasing importance. With the season getting underway in Australia, where the team took their first WorldTour wins of the season through Sagan and Jay McCarthy, BORA-hansgrohe will, over the coarse of the season, race and train across six continents – with hundreds of travel days between them.

“The Scicon AeroComfort bike travel bags are a perfect tool for use because the bikes are very well protected but at the same time not too heavy, which helps a lot when traveling with more than 20 bikes. Also, there is not a lot of disassembly needed which saves us precious time. The other Scicon Race Rain Bags we use are very important for our riders and Sports Directors in the race. They are so well organized that it is really easy to find even the smallest items like different gloves very fast and hand them over whilst racing.” explained Lars Teutenberg, Performance Director.

Scicon Bags Brand Manager Christian Pearce added: “We’ve worked with BORA-hansgrohe for the past year now and have formed a strong relationship with the German team. Having the knowledge and experience at hand of riders such as Peter Sagan and Rafal Majka, and the experienced staff members on the team too, is vital in our product development to make bags that suit riders of any level and ability.”

BORA-hansgrohe got the season off to a strong start with a stage win and the green jersey at the Tour Down Under, the opening WorldTour race of the year, followed by McCarty winning the Cadel Evans Road Race. A strong showing in Vuelta a San Juan Internacional in Argentina followed, before the team returned to Europe for the upcoming early season tests, and the impending Spring Classics.
