Olympia to Relaunch its 'Boost' Road Bike on 125th Company Anniversary
Olympia (Italy) – "125th anniversary is a major milestone: Cicli Olympia is determined not to miss this chance to amaze its customers. This will be a year of celebrations, packed full of surprises - the first one being the evolution of a cult model: Boost", shared the company.

In the last 125 years, Olympia has followed, step by step, the evolution of bicycle engineering technology - showing constant commitment to research and innovation. To celebrate this anniversary, the Padua-based company pulls the ultimate hat trick: a road bike that marks a new milestone along this long and exciting journey. The 2018 Boost version is the end result of applied advanced aerodynamics and technology, an outstanding new product designed to first and foremost wow lovers of fast routes.

The design of Boost is inspired by maximum air penetration efficiency and turbulence minimisation goals - nothing protrudes more than is strictly functional to the bike's performance. The T1000 carbon monocoque frame incorporates not only the harnesses, the seatpost and the highly advanced handlebar connector, but also the derailleur and the Olympia carbon fibre bottle cage, integrated in a low-mounted housing.

Boost is the road bike designed to ride into the future by achieving maximum efficiency in tyre use - a component which is increasingly becoming the focus of construction technology. The tests developed in collaboration with Vittoria, an iconic brand in the production of tyres and a partner of Cicli Olympia, have shown that the 28 mm cross-section version outperforms the more traditional 25 mm cross-section product in terms of slip and handling performance. The tyre ability to adapt to micro-bumps in the asphalt is a determining factor for smooth riding.

"It also has a positive effect on comfort - enhanced by the prompt response ensured by a strong, lightweight and streamlined frame. In short, Boost is all that a professional can ask for and a fan can dream of. The homogeneity of shapes is also reflected in the continuity between the fork and the sturdy steering system lines. Another interesting aspect is the direct-mount caliper braking system, ensuring safety in hard braking, interesting aerodynamic integration and a low weight. All key elements for the creation of an outstanding racing machine", continues Olympia.

"Even at first sight, the bike's geometry has obviously been designed for racing, but amateur cyclists should not despair: thanks to the stylish spacers designed for the handlebar connector, even the most relaxed positions can be reached without ever compromising on frame design and performance", explained Olympia.

"125 years of company history deserved a celebratory model capable of expressing the state of the art of Olympia's bicycle engineering expertise. Boost is its symbol. This model was born at the same time as the partnership between the Padua-based brand and Granfondo di Padova, a racing event to be held in the manufacturer's home territory with Cicli Olympia as the event's main sponsor from this year", they concluded.

Boost is produced in sizes S-M-L-XL and in the colours White/Red (glossy)/Black (matt); Black/Silver (glossy)/Carbon (matt).

The available setups include:
  • Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 and Shimano Ultegra 8000
  • Wheels/tyres: Vittoria Qurano 60C/ Vittoria Corsa Speed TLR 28c; Miche Revox Full Carbon Clincher – Vittoria Rubino Pro IV 28c; Mavic Cosmic Carbone – Yksion Pro 25c
