Showers Pass (United States) - Technical outdoor clothing brand Showers Pass is partnering with British track cyclist and Olympic Silver Medalist Ryan Owens as he chases his dream of selection for the next Olympics to be held in Paris in 2024.

The sprint cyclist from Bedfordshire, was just 20 years old at the time of his first Olympic call-up in 2016, when he was named as a reserve to the sprint squad that competed at the track in Rio. Since then, Owens has established himself as one of the best ‘man one’ riders in the world, having amassed several medals at world and European level before securing a British Olympic record and an illustrious silver medal alongside teammates Jason Kenny and Jack Carlin at Tokyo in August this year.

Born into a keen cycling family, Owens started the sport at the age of 11 and was racing by the time he had reached 16. Having begun an engineering degree at Loughborough University in September 2014, Owens won bronze in the team sprint at the British National Track Championships then went on to dominate the BUCS University National track championships in May 2015, winning three golds.

On the back of his improving performances, Owens was handed a trial by the Great Britain Cycling Team in September 2015, winning a place on the Senior Academy, and moving to Manchester full-time to pursue his dream of one day winning an Olympic gold medal.
