The Italian Nadir Colledani New Leader of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote

4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote (Spain) - The day of truth arrived at the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote. The individual time trial that usually marks the general classification of the race, year after year. After two days of vertigo speeds, whips, tactics and groups, the 3rd stage of the race breaks completely with that way of competing and serves to show their true hand of each runner. It was a climbing time trial that takes the bikers from the picturesque town of Caleta de Famara to the Ermita de las Nieves, located more than 500 meters above the starting point, in a position of dominion over the whole island of Lanzarote.

A route that combines a first force ascent with a section of slides to face the hard and demanding final climb to the Hermitage. 21 kilometres of extreme effort for each of the 500 bikers who are enjoying this edition of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote.

If the wind had been surprisingly calm in the early stages, for this day it had begun to blow with some intensity in some points of the route, hardening the day.

At a competitive level, two bikers had dominated with an iron hand the start of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote. Bartlomiej Wawak and Blaza Pinteric had won the two previous stages and were, therefore, leaders of the male and female general. Although Pinteric already had a marked margin, Wawak barely had a few seconds ahead of his pursuers, in a general classification in which everything was to be decided.

Nadir Colledani, the fastest and new leader:

The young Nadir Colledani has been the protagonist of the day. The small Italian rider has set the best time on the stage with a time of 51:18, beating the Polish Bartlomiej Wawak by just 8 seconds. A small difference for such a hard day. The two of them were the only ones able to get out of the 52 minutes. With that result Colledani becomes the leader of the general, but with only 2 seconds ahead of Wawak. Everything is open before tomorrow's queen stage.

Ben Zwiehoff has completed the podium of the day. The German has recovered well from the injuries suffered yesterday when he went to the ground while fighting for the stage win.

Blaza Pinteric is on her way to full triumphs in the race. This time trial has not been less and has devastated imposing clearly against Fabienne Schaus and Kerry Macphee. Her leadership is consolidated and only one misfortune will prevent tomorrow proclaiming the winner of the race.

The final stage arrives:

The 4th day of the race will be the longest day of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote. 81 kilometres and a long climb with an extra time trial in the second half of the route that will serve to decide the race, which in the men's category is as open as the first day. In fact, a good part of the top-10 of the general will have to be finalized in the last stage.
