Olympia (Italy) - The most successful Olympia-branded hardtail model becomes even better performing, more stable and accurate in its trajectories. Its new, clearly race-inspired geometries make this very special XC more attractive even for granfondo lovers.
The longer horizontal tube, in addition to a shorter handlebar connector, ensures prompter response and easier handling of the F1 in sudden changes of direction.
The design of the column tube has been updated, too: the curved shape of the lower part, in addition to expanding the space for the wheel, brings the thrust point closer and at the same time ensures a less rigid frame along the vertical axis.
The column tube angle is 74°. The steering box height has been reduced to make the bike handier and help prevent any loss of balance. The steering angle has been increased to 70° for better performance in the most challenging downhill stretches.
The rear stay, shortened to 430 mm, is compact and lean, and at the same time, prompter when picking up speed and ensuring a "smoother" ride. It is also compatible with larger diameter tyres.
One of the innovations introduced by Olympia compared to the earlier model is the reinforcement bridge between the seat tube and the top tube.
The cable harnesses, including the telescopic seat post control cable, are housed inside the monocoque frame, made of Toray T1000, T800, M40J carbon fibre. The cables are integrated (and protected) also inside the bottom bracket shell.
In the new version, a chain guide has been added, easily removable if necessary.
F1 is produced in 6 set-up versions, in the sizes S-M-L-XL and in the colour patterns carbon/black/orange and carbon/white/blue/orange. A “125-years Olympia” limited edition (photo) is available, produced in 125 specimens, which stands out for its new Shimano XTR 12Speed shifterand special chrome colour variant.
