Like our products, we are innovating our team and are looking for In-House Brand Sales Representatives for our Northern and Southern California territories.

Team Küat is comprised of avid cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts, and fine ale connoisseurs. This motley crew of dreamers and schemers pool together their diverse talents and interests to bring you sharp design, quality products, and awesome customer service.

Küat manufactures and distributes vehicle accessories for the outdoor enthusiast. Products include bicycle racks, kayak racks, ski racks, and cargo racks.

Your qualifications and responsibilities:

  • Strong business acumen
  • The ability to work well under stress
  • A solid understanding of IBD/Outdoor markets
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Selling Küat on behalf of the company
  • Evaluating the territory
  • Implementing effective strategies to drive Kuat’s brand message
  • Working with management to improve sales strategies
  • Recording and reporting account details and interactions
  • Regularly monitoring Accounts to ensure that they are educated
  • Keeping abreast with changes in the Cycling/Outdoor market
  • Assisting the company to attract new clients by maintaining and enhancing marketing materials

Our ideal candidate for the Sales Representative role has some sales experience and/or an interest in and familiarity with the outdoor recreation industry and is excited to take on a new career challenge.

Sales Support – You will be responsible for working closely with our Sales Department and our network of dealers to ensure the proper functioning of our ordering and delivery processes and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Some additional duties include:

  • Responding to dealer inquiries via phone and email
  • Troubleshooting any back-end issues that may prevent customers from receiving products as expected
  • Account creation, order entry, and product education and support
  • Upholding and enforcing Küat’s Sales and Minimum Advertised Price policies

Product & Industry Knowledge – You make sure our Sales Department and customers receive the most up-to-date information regarding product offerings and availability, industry trends, and account/order status.

Some duties include:

Ensuring product availability is updated and accurate

Communicating industry trends to the appropriate departments to ensure product development meets those needs

Education & Experience – This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered as a diploma substitute. Candidates should also have three to five years’ experience in wholesale and/or retail sales, preferably in the outdoor/cycling space. Experience with Netsuite, Monday, Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis in Excel, is preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt position with varied working hours, based in California.

Occasionally you’ll catch up on your paperwork on home office workdays, but most of the time, customer places of business are where you’ll interact with them. We’ll provide you with a company vehicle and a budget for travel. Daily travel to shops within the territory is part of the work and some out-of-town travel is required. Attending events on behalf of Küat is required as well. Multi-day trips are possible.
