Kona Bicycle Co. (United States) - Kona Bicycles is hiring a full-time graphic designer. This employee will work with the USA staff as well as the international marketing and art teams to produce materials for a variety of purposes and applications. Candidates must be willing to work remotely in the Bellingham, Washington area, but also frequently at Kona USA’s office in Ferndale as required.
Training, Education, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor of fine arts degree is preferred, but if you have an amazing skillset and portfolio, don’t be shy
- Adobe CS expertise with InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook proficiency
- Experience working with multiple internal departments to resolve issues or implement new procedures
- Mac computer proficiency
Bonus Points Skills:
- Product photography experience
- Thorough understanding of bicycle parts, terminology and their usage on a complete bicycle
- The patience of a saint
Roles and Responsibilities:
Point of Purchase, Clothing and Merchandise Materials:
- Design and produce point of purchase, clothing, merchandise and promotional materials
In-Store Development:
- As an extension of the point of purchase program, work with Kona dealers to create displays, visuals and branded Kona areas within bike shops
Bicycle Production Art Assistance:
- Help product group and art department articulate new bikes and establish how they fit in the range
- Template bike photos for graphic and color application
- Produce custom colored art files for the annual model year’s saddles, rims, forks and other small parts
Trade Show Materials:
- Booth design, supplier sourcing and logistics as well as some installation and set-up (when applicable)
- Invites, name tags, posters, promotional materials, trade publication advertisements and more
Demo Tour Marketing Support:
- Design event flyers for print and digital use
Presentations:
- Design and layout PowerPoint presentations
Kona Owners’ Manual and other books:
- Working with the art department, edit and produce Kona’s annual print and digital bicycle owners’ manual
- Design and layout annual dealer program booklets for USA and Canada operations
Hours / Compensation:
- 40hrs / week
- Salary TBD based on experience
