Kona Bicycle Co. (United States) - Kona Bicycles is looking to hire a dual suspension product manager. This position will collaborate with sales, engineering and marketing teams to create category-leading products. This position will require an intimate knowledge of mountain bike design and specification. Ideal candidates will be immersed in MTB and will have experience with multiple disciplines and riding styles. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, suspension design and geometry. The role will be based in Bellingham, WA and will require travel to foreign countries.

Job Description:

• Work with senior management to create lifecycle plan and strategy
• Develop product proposals and accurately communicate concept
• Manage development of project from ideation to production and provide clear updates to stakeholders
• Create specification and communicate with third-party assemblers regarding fit, function and intent of specification
• Work with marketing to provide support for product and dealer launches explaining the philosophy and intent behind the products
• Review samples and validate for production
• Work with suppliers to establish suspension tunes and spec opportunities that result in improved product for both parties

Key Candidate Attributes:

• Strong understanding of dual suspension mountain bike landscape and rider needs
• Strong grasp of manufacturing processes
• Ability to collaborate between multiple departments – engineering, marketing and sales
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
• Experience with third-party manufacturing and assembly
• Ability to service suspension, hydraulic brakes, bearings etc – strong mechanical aptitude
• Passport in good standing for international travel

Travel:

• This position will require both domestic and international travel – pending restrictions due to COVID etc
• Candidates will be required to have a passport in good standing which allows for travel to South East Asia, Europe and Canada
• Travel quantity will be dependent on project schedules and needs – expected travel time will be less than 30%
