Giant Introduces All-New XTC 29 Range!

Giant Bicycles (Taiwan) - Giant is introducing an all-new range of XtC 29 off-road bikes with reengineered composite framesets that make them lighter and more responsive for XC racing and riding. This marks the latest evolution of an iconic hardtail that has been ridden to race wins and podiums at XC World Cups over the past two decades.

The new XtC 29 range includes two series: the XtC Advanced SL 29 and the XtC Advanced 29. Both have been reengineered with updated composite frameset designs that boast lower overall weights and improved performance compared to previous models.

Designed to optimize the stability and speed of 29-inch wheels for XC terrain, these composite hardtails deliver quick acceleration and responsive handling on the trail. Each frame is custom-tuned for its size, with individual composite lay-up schedules made to optimize vertical compliance without compromising frame stiffness.

Beyond the frame materials, geometry has also been updated to meet the needs of Giant’s pro XC racers, delivering a super-responsive ride that flies up climbs and boosts control on rugged XC racetracks and trails. An aggressive 69.5-degree headtube angle allows for quick but confident front–end handling, while the 73.5-degree seattube angle positions riders securely forward for efficient climbing.

Both frames are designed for a 100mm suspension fork and feature optimized tube shaping to shave weight, maintain stiffness and improve ride quality. All of the new models are designed for 30.9mm diameter seatposts, which makes it easy to add a dropper post for riding aggressive XC terrain.

Boost hub spacing delivers stiffer wheel performance, added tire clearance and improved handling on the trail, and all models come with Giant Tubeless System technology. Every bike is delivered with Giant WheelSystems and tubeless ready tires, making it easier than ever to enjoy the benefits of added traction, smoother trail control, and a reduced risk of flat tires.

XTC Advanced SL 29:

The new XtC Advanced SL 29 builds on its World Cup pedigree with a totally reengineered frame that represents the lightest off-road machine ever built by Giant. The superlight chassis is handcrafted with pro-level Advanced SL composite for a total weight of 920 grams (size medium). It features geometry that’s optimized for its balanced, stable and fast-rolling 29-inch wheels. The frameset is custom assembled with a specific composite layup schedule that varies according to frame size. The result is supercharged climbing efficiency and smooth compliance through roots, rocks and ruts.

XTC Advanced 29:

Handcrafted with Giant’s Advanced-grade composite, the XtC Advanced 29 frameset weighs just 995 grams (size medium) compared to the previous generation’s 1259g).Like the pro-level XtC Advanced 29 SL,it’s handcrafted with a specific composite layup schedule that varies according to frame size to create the optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio with just the right amount of vertical compliance. The result is a bike that scoots up steep climbs and gives you added confidence and control on fast, flowy singletrack. Like the pro-level XtC Advanced SL 29, this one features Boost hub spacing, which improves wheel stiffness and adds clearance to run larger tires.
