DAHON Launches Exclusive Technology Sharing Program

DAHON North America Inc. (United States) - DAHON unveils innovative new business strategy that will see the brand offer its renowned technology to valued partners.

World leader in folding bikes, DAHON, has unveiled plans to formally offer their technical expertise via folding components and licensing to valued partners. The components include: hinges, handle posts, cranksets, pedals and PostPumps.

Featured in DAHON’s new technology sharing program is the D4D Quickpark Stem. Built for 26inch wheels and bigger, the award-winning component can adjust the handlebar’s height, reach and axial angle. In addition, it can rotate the handlebar 90 degrees around a vertical axis to lie prone against the bike. Part of DAHON’s Flatpak Technology, the D4D stem answers the call of rider’s changing ergonomic needs for a tailored fit and practical storage. Made of aluminum alloy and weighing 600 grams, handlebar angles and height can be easily adjusted, by way of an ingenious mechanism to optimize riding comfort every time.

Joining the technology sharing lineup is the Post-Pump II, an independent, ultra slim bicycle pump that can be stored inside seat posts of either 31.6 or 33.9 millimeters. It is a compact and economic alternative to the familiar DAHON Post-Pump. Lightweight at 130 grams, the Post-Pump II is made of sturdy alloy and can reach 110psi with ease. The pump is not only innovative and low cost, but allows for discreet pump storage whilst keeping the bicycle frame clean and streamlined.

The all-new Jaws hinge, the latest evolution in DAHON’s unique LockJaw technology will also be available through the exclusive program. The Jaws hinge employs seamless and sturdy teeth to lock hydroformed shapes into place for a totally flush appearance that maintains strength and rigidity. The tough Jaw’s teeth and tidy mechanism make for rugged performance in a lighter, smooth design.

DAHON’s innovative QuickDraw Pedals help make up the varied range of technology on offer. The detachable pedal features a unique quick-release system, which can be operated with one hand and without tools. The QuickDraw pedals can help slim down a bike by at least 3 centimeters and are more secure and prone than any other detachable system on the market.

Through this new strategy licensees will benefit from market-proven components and technology that surpasses all quality and safety expectations. These quality components can be identified through laser sticker technology. DAHON’s innovative technologies can optimize the performance of both regular bikes and folding bikes in unique ways.
