4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote (Spain) - The Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote has celebrated its 2nd stage on another fast route of 60 kilometres in which the script of the test has been very similar to the opening day yesterday.
For now, the bikers are enjoying an exceptional time in this edition of the race. With little wind and mild temperatures, that makes the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote an ideal destination for the start of competitions in Europe. If we add to this the UCI S1 category of the race we have the answers to why the race is a success of participation and especially of foreign assistance.
Bartlomiej Wawak confirms his power at the end of the stage:
Today's stage has returned to live a hellish pace from the same exit. The average recorded by the winner, close to 29 km / h, speaks for itself. All this taking into account that, like yesterday, the layout had long stretches of trails, especially in the second part of the route. The day has been spectacular in the fight for victory. During the whole stage, a large group has rolled in which all the favourites were kept. The technical sections meant that the runners disputed to the maximum the entrance to each path and then went to the fastest zones. A type of competition that can rarely be experienced on a mountain bike. Exciting until the last meters and intense. In part, the formation of this great front group has been possible thanks to the exceptional conditions that bikers are enjoying in this edition of the La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote. The wind has been practically nil and a radiant sun has accompanied the bikers during most of the route.
In the final section, a very long path between volcanic stones and the sea in the background has been the scene of the final battle. The Polish Bartlomiej Wawak has returned to be the best in goal, showing that his final sprint is devastating. He has managed to stand out slightly against the Austrian Karl Markt, a biker who already knows what it is to win the general of this race. Young Danish Jonas Lindberg has also repeated the podium, this time with the 3rd place. The differences between the first classifieds have been minimal and, despite their two stage victories, the leadership of Wawak can be assaulted by many bikers. The 8 nationalities represented in the top-10 are once again the signal of the exceptional level that this race treasures, without a doubt the national test that has the highest percentage of foreign participation.
Blaza Pintaric from start to finish:
Seeing how she swept yesterday in the first stage of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote, the Slovenian Blaza Pintaric has positioned herself as the undisputed favourite to take the race. This Slovenian runner specialized in bike-marathon has given a new lesson in the day today. She won alone with more than 4 minutes of advantage over the Danish Malene Degn, fully recovered from the fall she suffered yesterday. Kerry Macphee has been the big surprise of the day, completing a very disputed podium. The fact that women have their own way out has greatly improved the level and quality of the competition between them.
Tomorrow, the key day:
The 3rd stage of the Club La Santa 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote is a key day in the final development of the race. The time trial that will mark the general of this UCI S1 event. They will be 21 kilometres, most of them on the rise, to go from the sea to the Ermita de las Nieves. An extremely demanding day at a physical level that will serve to clarify the general nature of the competition before the reign of next Tuesday.
