Airdrop Bikes (UK) – Press Release: The Airdrop Bitmap is a hardcore hardtail in the best British tradition. A fast, fun hooligan of a bike.

The idea was to make the ultimate bike for ripping trails. You might think it’s an easy thing to produce an alloy hardtail, but to make one as good as this took us two years of development. We’ve put everything into designing what we think is one of the best hardcore hardtails out there.

We put a huge amount of work into getting the Bitmap's geometry dialled. A bike that's designed to be ridden as hard as this, and particularly a hardtail, is all about the angles. The whole idea was to produce a bike that's fast and fun; like the bikes we used to ride when we were kids, but with everything we've learned about progressive geometry and the latest standards rolled in. A hardcore hardtail for the modern era.

There are four sizes to choose from, all with super-low standover. You can choose the reach you want and run a 150mm or 170mm dropper to get the desired pedalling position. It's low in the BB too, with a -45mm BB drop... perfect for railing through berms. The rear-end is short at 420mm but it can handle a modern 2.6" tyre with tonnes of mud clearance. Meanwhile at the business end there's a 65° head angle for charging through tech and down the steeps. It's easy to jump and manual, it's roomy enough to go fast but it'll also thread through singletrack at pace.

The Bitmap hardtail frame was designed in Sheffield and developed on trails throughout the UK. As with all our bikes, it's built to be simple but effective. It's also fully up to date, with a Boost 12x148mm rear axle (included), integrated 180mm brake mount, a threaded BB shell and stealth dropper compatibility. We don't cal it a "plus" bike but it has plenty of clearance for 2.6" tyres.
