Annika Langvad and Sam Gaze dominated the First XCO World Cup Race in Stellenbosch



UCI (South Africa) – Annika Langvad and Samuel Gaze (both Specialized Racing riders) won the first Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup race of the season in Stellenbosch, South Africa.



On the women elite race, Annika Langvad achieved a solo victory with 13 seconds difference to Pauline Ferrand Prevot. On the men elite race Samuel Gaze and Nino Schurter battled for the win on a very intense and close sprint to the finish line.

  2. Pauline Ferrand Prevot (Canyon Factory Racing XC) 1:33:27 (+13)
  3. Anne Tauber (CST Sandd American Eagle MTB Racing Team) 1:33:48 (+34)
  4. Helen Grobert (Cannondale Factory Racing XC) 1:34:29 (+1:15)
  5. Maja Wloszczowska (Kross Racing Team) 1:34:30 (+1:16)

Men Elite Final Podium:
  1. Samuel Gaze (Specialized Racing) 1:30:14
  2. Nino Schurter (Scott-Sram MTB Racing) 1:30:15 (+1)
  3. Maxime Marotte (Cannondale Factory Racing XC) 1:30:16 (+2)
  4. Mathieu Van Der Poel (Corendon-Circus) 1:31:24 (+1:10)
  5. Titouan Carod (BMC MountainBike Racing Team) 1:31:41 (+1:27)
