The Allston features a rust-proof Gates carbon belt drive instead of a standard chain. Ideal for commuting in all weather, the belt also allows for grease free handling. It is paired with a sealed Shimano Alfine 11-speed internal gear hub that delivers a wide gear range with no exposed parts. The entire drive train is corrosion resistant, requires no lubrication, and is virtually maintenance-free.

Equipped with standard 700c road wheels, the Allston provides a superior ride to small wheel folders. Extra wide 38mm tires and hydraulic disc brakes make it equally suited for the post holes of city streets and unpaved or gravel paths. When folded, the bike compacts to just 36 inches wide, 28 inches high and 12 inches deep, perfect for the car trunk, train, or closet.



Like all Montague bikes, the Allston uses the patented DirectConnectTM folding system. The design allows the frame to fold around the seat tube rather than placing a hinge in any of the tubing, another feature distinguishing it from other folders. This leads to an incredibly stiff frame that can be folded in less than 20 seconds.

Montague’s Eurobike award winning RackStand is also included with the Allston which serves as a standard cargo rack and mud guard when the bike is in use, converts into a kickstand when parked, and allows the bike to stand upright when folded. The Allston retails for $1,895.00.
