The New NukeProof Scout 275 & 290 Hardtails

The New NukeProof Scout 275 & 290 Hardtails
NukeProof (UK) – “Hardcore Hardtails. There is something of a purity riding a hardtail, knowing that all your getting back everything you’ve just put in. There is also the small fact that (in the UK anyway) winter is a cruel mistress on your full suspension bike and a great hardtail is a great addition to any mountain bikers garage", explained NukeProof.

According to the company, "the Scout has hidden in the shaddows of the Nukeproof Mega for a few years, but the sneaky Scout has been building a real core following of loyal Nukeproof fans (you only need to see the awesome reaction of riders on many of the owners forums). Despite never been designed for competition, in 2017 the Scout has won races in 4x, XC and enduro at the hands of our athletes, as well as been a faithful friend to all their countless training miles and adventures. Yes the new Mega carbon was our headline for 2017/18 with Sam Hill’s World Championship winning success, but the Scout is more than just the support act and its all new frame has added something more to our XC, Park, 4x, trail, downhill, enduro hardtail".

Frame:
"The Scout is designed as a do it all “hardcore hardtail” it’s built to live off road. The low slung top tube remains to give you loads of room on the descents, but across the sizes has grown a little to give you even more room up front. The scouts angles are slack, low and long, like the Mega its designed to inspire confidence and reward you in abundance. The geometry on the 275 have been optimised to base around a 2.6″ tyre (although it will still work perfectly fine with standard 2.3″)", added NukeProof.

"The rear of the frame has seen the most changes to allow it to be a more forgiving ride. That said, the new frame hasn’t lost any of it’s drive, we have added a little comfort through all new contorted seat tubes , giving vertical compliance. The lateral stiffness is remained with boost 148mm rear spacing to ensure that the Scout is snappy through the turns. Available in 3 spec models Sport, Race and Comp and also as a frame only (all Nukeproof Mega parts will transfer on to the Scout frame)", concluded the company.

Scout 275 Race:
